U.S. Premiere

Bold Moves - February 10-21, 2016

Forgotten Land

Choreographer: Jiří Kylián | Music:Benjamin Britten

Stirring and beautiful. Forgotten Land was inspired by a painting of women on a beach by the Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch. The sea, with its giant waves, is a metaphor for constant motion; for erosion and renewal.

World Premiere

Choreographer: Ashley Page | Music: Thomas Ades

A winner of many prestigious dance awards, Page is known for his daring collaborations with visual artists and contemporary composers. Though drawn from the discipline of ballet, his bold choreography explores new avenues for dance.

RAkU

Choreographer: Yuri Possokhov | Music: Shinji Eshima

Possokhov uses the burning of the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto, Japan, as the point of departure for a story of love, treachery, separation and tragedy. Set in Japan's past, a warrior and his beloved princess are pulled apart by the schemes of a jealousy-crazed monk.

Cinderella - May 11 - May 22, 2016

Choreographer: Frederick Ashton | Music: Sergei Prokofiev

The classic fairy tale comes to life in this dazzling ballet. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother and the Fairies of the Four Seasons help her overcome her mean-spirited step sisters and find her Prince. Grand sets and costumes add beauty to this family favorite production.

Plus, add on these three not-to-be-missed programs:

Millennials - September 16-20, 2015

Fool's Paradise

Choreographer: Christopher Wheeldon | Music: Joby Talbot

Golden lighting captures falling glittery petals as the dancers' bodies form a series of living sculptures. This display of beauty and strength follows closely to the score's mysterious turns.

Joffrey Premiere

This rising star of choreography collaborates closely with her dancers and has a fierce improvisational talent. She has created ballets on many companies around the world. Dance Magazine says "one of her trademarks is the ability to suggest powerful emotions through abstract movement."
