Joffrey Conservatory

Overview

The Joffrey Conservatory Program, led by Karin Ellis-Wentz, Head of Pre-Professional Programs, is for students ages 14-18 years old who are seeking a successful balance between academics and intensive training as they prepare for professional careers in dance. Classes are offered weekdays Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM at Joffrey Tower, 10 E. Randolph Street in Downtown Chicago.

The program's curriculum, created by Artistic Director Ashley Wheater and Academy staff, is designed to help students better prepare for the rigorous training of the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program and Studio Company offered to students ages 17 and older. The Conservatory will also lay the foundation for a successful career in professional dance or in other fields by developing artistry, creativity, discipline, and confidence. The individual guidance provided in the program ensures that each dancer is working to their fullest potential and prepares students for his/her dance future.

K-12

Joffrey Academy has a referral-based relationship with K-12 Online Private Schools. K-12 enables students to learn at their own pace, whether they are seeking greater academic challenges, in need of a more nurturing environment, or working around budding careers, travel, and extracurricular pursuits. A flexible approach to online schooling, students can enroll at any time as a full-time student on track to receive a high school diploma, or part-time to supplement a traditional home school curriculum.

Please note: The Joffrey Academy does not take any responsibility for arranging academic needs and does not provide an accredited program for the completion of high school. All academic arrangements are the responsibility of the student.
