Registration, Handbook and Financial Aid

In light of the most recent city mandates and in recognition that we must continue to put the health and safety of our community first, all Children's and Youth Division classes will remain online for the Fall Semester. Pre-Professional, Conservatory, Trainee, and Studio Company will begin the Fall Semester in-person following the Academy Reopening Guidelines. Adult Division classes are currently on hold until further notice.

Children's and Youth Division Fall Semester

What do virtual classes look like?

Virtual classes are designed to be the closest approximation of an in-studio class in the student’s own home. Students follow visual and verbal instruction from their Joffrey teacher to complete barre work using what they have at home in place of a barre. Teachers suggest modifications so students will stay safe on the variety of flooring surfaces (carpet, tile, etc.) students may have in their homes, and movements such as multiple pirouettes, some jumps, and travelling phrases are minimized. We have carefully planned and adapted our syllabi for our online programs, and our dedicated faculty will work to ensure that students continually meet monthly technical milestones whle studying at home.
