2014-2015 Joffrey Circle Salons
Wednesday, July 30, 2014 - Prodigal Son with Edward Villella
Watch as American ballet icon, Edward Villella coaches Joffrey company dancers through George Balanchine's Prodigal Son. A role that Villella made famous as a principal dancer with New York City Ballet, Prodigal Son is the ultimate tale of sin and redemption from one of the master choreographers of all time.
Wednesday, November 5, 2014 - The Joffrey Academy and Studio Company
In its inaugural season, The Joffrey Studio Company enables the Academy to recruit potential students from around the globe and continue to strengthen Joffrey's reputation as a world-class training institution. Step into the journey of a professional dancer in training, as young artists from The Joffrey Academy of Dance display their outstanding skills with an exclusive performance and share their experience in a discussion panel.
Wednesday, January 28, 2015 - Tulle
On the heels of Alexander Ekman's wildly successful Episode 31, the Joffrey presents Tulle, a fresh and quirky ballet by the young Swedish choreographer. Prepare to be amused by a glimpse of Tulle, featuring the full Joffrey company. In Ekman's first piece working with pointe shoes, he utilizes classical ballet vocabulary as a base for his witty choreography. What can be more intriguing than a ballet about ballet?
Wednesday, April 8, 2015 - In Creases
The New York Times describes Justin Peck's In Creases as a "dreamscape that heightens the progress and colors of its score". Observe rehearsal with Albert Evans, former principal dancer and now Ballet Master with New York City Ballet, as he stages Peck's buzzworthy choreography on our versatile Joffrey company dancers.
Invitations with more details and RSVP instructions will be sent closer to each event date.
