DANCE - Joffrey Ballet: “Rising Stars”
The Joffrey concludes its 2010–11 season in Chicago with three works by choreographers still rising in an international sense but firmly established here in the U.S. Edwaard Liang premieres Woven Dreams, to seven pizzicato movements by four 20th-century composers; Yuri Possokhov unveils Bells, using Rachmaninoff's complete Piano Concerto No. 2; and the company for the first time performs Julia Adam's Night (2000), which follows a woman's travels through her dream world to an original score by Matthew Pierce.
