The Joffrey Ballet (Wednesday and Thursday, through Aug. 26) Jacob’s Pillow is closing its scenic grounds for the summer, but not before a grand finale of sorts: a rare Northeast visit from Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet. In keeping with the artistic director Ashley Wheater’s commitment to contemporary work, the company offers Edwaard Liang’s “Age of Innocence,” to music by Philip Glass and Thomas Newman; “Bells” by Yuri Possokhov, the resident artist of San Francisco Ballet; and a world premiere by Houston Ballet’s artistic director, Stanton Welch. It should be a satisfying end to the festival’s 80th anniversary season. At 8 p.m., Ted Shawn Theater, 358 George Carter Road, Becket, Mass., (413) 243-0745, jacobspillow.org; sold out. (Burke)
