An Ode to the Human Spirit

The Joffrey Ballet's repertory program "Human Landscapes" brings three seminal works back to its stage. James Kudelka's "Pretty BALLET," in an encore of its 2010 world premiere, blends cinematic surrealism with a love for the classics. Next up is Jiří Kylián's romantic and moving 1981 work "Forgotten Land," not performed by the Joffrey since its 1985 company premiere. The program closes with German choreographer Kurt Jooss' masterpiece "The Green Table," a commentary on the futility of war and its aftermath. Joffrey was the first American company to dance "The Green Table" in 1967.
