The Joffrey Ballet is one of the most recognizable arts organizations in America and one of the top dance companies in the world, so when it names it's upcoming season "All Stars," it demands some attention.

"All Stars," an umbrella title for four new Joffrey programs, opens Wednesday at the Auditorium Theatre. The show will run from Oct. 13 to 24.

The performance features George Balanchine's Stravinsky Violin Concerto, in remembrance of his friend Igor Stravinsky, Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain (2005) and "The Concert (or The Perils of Everybody)," a comic ballet that is expected to feature "more than a little social commentary."
