It looks like the Joffrey Ballet will be taking the stage on schedule this fall.

A tentative agreement reached late Thursday has dancers agreeing to phase in six-hour workdays within five years and a 10% pay increase (they had asked for 20%).

Joffrey Ballet Executive Director Christopher Clinton Conway, an attorney who helped broker the deal, said he's optimistic the agreement will be finalized. "My respect and admiration for these artists has been unwavering through the process," he said in an email. "I am very much looking forward to an agreement being reached and the season proceeding as planned."
