WHO: Christopher Clinton Conway, 39
CLAIM TO FAME: As executive director of the Joffrey Ballet,
Conway is one of the most recognizable faces on Chicago’s culture
scene. The star arts fundraiser has pulled in millions for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and other high-profile arts organizations around the country.
STYLE FILE: “I was born in a suit,” says the single
and dating Conway, who describes his style as “CEO classic with a bit of
arts pop.” A “modern carbon copy” of his father and grandfather—the
three share exact measurements—he often wears their treasured vintage
coats. His never-toss item? A basket-weave-texture Versace tux jacket.
MICRO-MANAGER: “The Joffrey influences my style, but it goes both ways,” says Conway. He helped design the interiors at the new Joffrey Tower,
where his detailed touch can be seen throughout, from the fabric
covering the chairs to the fonts of the waiting-room wall lettering.
“I’m the Leona Helmsley of the ballet,” he joked.
