Anastacia Holden joined The Joffrey Ballet in August 2005, following two seasons as an Arpino Apprentice. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ms. Holden was first interested in international folk dance and started ballet at the local YMCA at the age of seven. She began serious study with Judy Rice at the University of Michigan and later continued her training under Prima Ballerina Maniya Barredo in Alpharetta, GA.

 

Since joining the Joffrey Ballet, Ms. Holden has enjoyed performing in many ballets including: Age of Innocence, Cinderella (Spring Fairy), Cloven Kingdom, Confetti, Crossed, Dark Elegies, The Dream, Giselle (Peasant Pas des Deux), The Green Table, Kettentanz, Light Rain, Motown Suites, Les Noces, The Nutcracker (Sugar Plum, Clara), Offenbach in the Underworld, Othello (Bianca), Petrouchka, Reflections, Romeo and Juliet, Le Sacre du Printemps, Smile With My Heart, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, Tarantella, Viva Vivaldi, and A Wedding Bouquet.

 

Her other interests include reading, travelling, baking and quilting. Ms. Holden would like to thank her family and friends for their continued love and support.
