April Shipp



Originally from Chicago, IL, April Shipp began her professional dance career at the age of 17, with the Baltimore Chicago Modern Dance Company. During this time April studied as a Dance Major at Columbia College Chicago.

When April reached the age of nineteen, she was presented the opportunity to attend Marymount Manhattan College as a Political Science Major and to further her dance career in New York City, under the representation by Clear Talent Group NYC.

While in New York, April studied at various studios including; Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and Steps on Broadway. In 2010, April received the honor of being one of 20 assistant choreographers for the flash mob featured on the Oprah Show "24th Season Kickoff Party." The project was one of the largest flash mobs in dance history. In the summer of 2011, April upheld the title of Assistant Director/Choreographer for the Chicago Tribune Printers Row Lit Fest Flash Mob: "Make Your Mark."

April has also had the great pleasure of working with many accredited choreographers and artists including; Dr. Charles Carter, Laurie Ann Gibson, Tyce Diorio, Kirby Reed, Edwin Ocampo, Danielle Polanco, Luam, Missy Elliot, Beyonce, Kanye West, Smokie Norful and more.
