Kara Zimmerman



Kara Zimmerman was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She began her training with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet at the age of 8. When Ms. Zimmerman was 17, she continued her training with the Pacific Northwest Ballet School on Full Scholarship before joining the company as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2000. After 8 seasons with Pacific Northwest Ballet, she joined Cincinnati Ballet as a Senior Soloist. Kara has been a member of the Joffrey Ballet since 2009.


Some of her favorite pieces and roles since joining The Joffrey Ballet include Gerald Arpino's Reflections, Snow Queen and Arabian in Joffrey's Nutcracker, Balanchine's Stravinsky Violin Concerto Aria II, and Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain.
