Lynne Alberding



Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Alberding began her classical training at the Judith Svalander School of Ballet in Crystal Lake, IL. She did her summer intensives at Boston Ballet and in 2001 received a talent scholarship to attend Butler University's Fine Arts program. It was there that she continued her academic and technique training to later graduate with a BFA in Dance Performance. She has since traveled, trained, and performed with some of the most renowned ballet masters of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory and Marinsky Ballet Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. Alberding has extensive background in training beginner to pre-professional artists. In 2007, she became BASI certified in pilates and brings to her clients the benefits pilates has on a dancer, athlete, rehab patient, and an individual in pursuit of a healthy balanced lifestyle. She has completed extended education programs focused on alignment, spinal conditions, Pilates for Dancers, and is also experienced in creating strength and resistance programs for clients with osteoporosis and post-hip replacements. Lynne recently completed all levels of Balanced Body's CoreAlign Teacher Training and is PMA certified. Presently, Ms. Alberding teaches pilates throughout the Chicago land area and has been faculty at the Joffrey Academy since January of 2012.

Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, is the only training program owned, operated or endorsed by The Joffrey Ballet. The Joffrey Ballet is not affiliated with any other dance training or school program, including the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. The Joffrey Academy, located in the Exelon Education Center at Joffrey Tower in Chicago, Illinois is the only school that follows the organizational mission, training syllabi, and artistic vision of The Joffrey Ballet.
