Advanced Arts @ Gallery 37 (AAEP)
Overview
The Advanced Arts at Gallery 37 (AAEP) is a partnership with Chicago Public Schools that involves yearlong dance instruction for ambitious high school students. Participants receive honors credit for attending daily classes in which they study a rigorous curriculum of dance technique, history, terminology and performance. AAEP offers students the opportunity to develop a higher level of dance technique and to work with choreographers and resident teaching artists from The Joffrey Ballet. The AAEP performances can include a mixed repertoire of a variety of styles including classical ballet, jazz, and modern dance. The performances are open to the public and are free admission for all.
